Winter’s Angel
Posted by T.S.Garp
She was part of the Divine Plan as was Man
As she watched the sky turn an opal color
A wintry gray-white shroud expanding for miles
Gliding down to observe this sacred happening
She smiled sweetly watching the radiant’s of the sun
Cascading sunbeams escaping behind the clouds
Shining onto small spheres falling in scattered clutters
Sailing down on the wisp of the slightest breeze
Tiny crystalline cotton balls of holy water droplets
Changing colors as the light passed through them
Floating majestically to bathe the landscape in white
Winter’s angel, rejoiced with the people at the sight
Closing her eyes, giving a silent blessing through the mist
The fair angel of winter sighed at the joy of all of this
She evoked love to every living thing below
Let this continue, until next spring after the snow

Welcome to the Year of the Dragon. Beginning on January 23, 2012 the Year of the Dragon 15-day celebration starts worldwide. What’s good about this fortunate year you may ask? Well, the mysterious mythical Dragon is regarded as a divine creature in Eastern philosophy known to keep evil spirits away and is a powerful protector. Since as far back as 3000 BC the Dragon has been a powerful symbol for luck, happiness, wealth, defender, ruler of the water, health, and long life. As long as the Dragon is by your side you are considered safe and protected and infused with good luck.
People born in the year of the Dragon (every 12 years) is considered revered and honored.
A karmic sign Dragons are aware of any deed done is return to you. Having good relationships is very important to Dragons. In Chinese astrology any people born in a specific year are thought to take on the character and traits of that particular animal after which the year is named. The Dragon qualities can also relate to the energy that rules this new year such as originality, boldness, non-conformity, passionate and extroverted, full of energy, creativity, and gifted with charm, luck, and extremely ambitious, ushering forth confidents, fearless in accepting challenges, and able to be successful.
We as poets, writers, artist, and spiritualist are beginning a most fortunate year indeed! The Year of the Dragon is full of promise, enthusiasm, patience, growth, determination, and transformation. This is certainly a good year to finish up long standing projects, branching out to new horizons, building new relationships, meeting new people, expanding our portfolios, expanding our minds, nurturing new ideas, following our dreams, and venturing out into the world. So enjoy the good energy and celebrate under the Lantern Festival this January and February, and enjoy this life!
