New York Times Reviews Self-Published Book

This is great news and about time. Many literary agents know that traditional publishing is going the way of the dinosaur. This comes as a wonderful break through for self-published authors. In 2011 about 40% of books in print were self published. Given that self-published books are becoming more and more professionally designed, edited and proofread helps. Slowly trad publishers are having to yield to NYT for breaking new ground by reviewing self-published books. Thank you New York Times! Read more about this on Book Business.

Another Jabberwocky rant. I stumbled upon this web site via Twitter and looks interesting. “Writer Unboxed” about the craft and business of writing fiction. What caught my eye was the Publicize and Promote Your Book advice. But look around, the site was created by 2 aspiring novelist. This web site is great for tips and writers trying to break into the publishing world. I recommend this site for all aspiring authors and writers.
