Summer Rituals

Watching them trek across the sand.
Hot underfoot from grains sparkling like tiny glass.
Seeking and venturing new places to dwell.
Planting a symbolic flag of right.
Settling in an open house without walls.
Lingering for just a minute before running.
Toward the blue crystalline massive pool of water.
Cooling themselves from the summer heat.
Repeating this many times.
