The Hibernating Princess

She was created by nature to dance and sing in the sunshine, but during the wintertime solstice her body craved rest, despite her heart’s desired for play quickly manifested anyway.
She asked why is it so colder
Why do I feel so much older
Is it winter time or just me getting slower
Yet I feel so much bolder
~
Spilling out in a rush
Cascading down rain drops of frozen petals
Moving down that hill
Like an avalanche of sheer will
~
Slipping and sliding all the way down
Tumbling and falling without making a sound
Drifting and turning
Spinning and learning
~
Camilla never harked any warning
She kept moving forward ’till the next morning
She never stopped, nor went any slower
She cried on my shoulder over and over
~
She demanded that time should stop
Prohibiting another move on the celestial clock
She clasped her hands and prayed
Making the choice to stay
~
She felt herself move to a new dimensional state
She decided to remain in this three-dimensional place
Holding back time with all her might and force
She settled down for a long winter nap to stay the course
