The Legend Dies

Posted by T.S.Garp

Richard Matheson, an American author and screenwriter, passed away at the age of 87 on June 23, 2013. He is best known for his incredible work as a great horror and science fiction writer. A Hollywood favorite many of Matheson’s novels and written work was adapted for film like: I Am Legend, What Dreams May Come, The Shrinking Man, A Stir of Echoes, The Legend of Hell House, and The Box from a 1970 short story "Button, Button" by Richard Matheson, all of which became Hollywood movies. Richard Matheson was one of my all-time favorite sci-fi/fantasy writers. I’ve read most of his books and enjoyed his stories adapted for television and film. A very imaginative and prolific writer. Be sure to read the LA Times and The New York Time articles about this legendary writer. R.I.P – T.S.Garp
