Time seems to be flying by this fall season and I’ve been so busy lately, no time to kick any pumpkins around, I’ve been on overdrive these past few months, a “mindset wave” like living in a dream of focus that starts before dawn and never ends until the weekend, can’t tell where the stack of books begins and I end, lol! Taking a mid term break, top of my list: more naps, reconnections with friends/family, and getting my dose of sci-fi injections via too many books, games, and films out there. (Breaking Bad was awesome by the way!) My book “Secrets of the Supernatural World” should be out on Nook and other venues soon (an oversight) and on sale at a special price just in time for the coming holidays which seem to start earlier and earlier every year. Richard Matheson, an American author and screenwriter, passed away at the age of 87 on June 23, 2013. He is best known for his incredible work as a great horror and science fiction writer. A Hollywood favorite many of Matheson’s novels and written work was adapted for film like: I Am Legend, What Dreams May Come, The Shrinking Man, A Stir of Echoes, The Legend of Hell House, and The Box from a 1970 short story "Button, Button" by Richard Matheson, all of which became Hollywood movies. Richard Matheson was one of my all-time favorite sci-fi/fantasy writers. I’ve read most of his books and enjoyed his stories adapted for television and film. A very imaginative and prolific writer. Greetings to everyone. As 2013 begins we can see changes on the horizon. I have been busy trying to complete outstanding projects and brace for any new ones that materialize. I’m knee-deep in paper, re-writes, and ideas with my latest book. Somehow, I’m still able to catch-up on some reading. I recently started expanding my search for helpful things on the Internet I call the World Matrix featured on Facebook. Upon my evaluation of the best online resources for tips, promotions, events, and free tools, I stumbled across this website “FriedBeef’s Tech" for the best online free books. This is great news and about time. Many literary agents know that traditional publishing is going the way of the dinosaur. This comes as a wonderful break through for self-published authors. In 2011 about 40% of books in print were self published. Given that self-published books are becoming more and more professionally designed, edited and proofread helps. Yes, I understand as I am currently seeking a good publisher for my latest book, and of course gaining my supply of rejection notices. Summer is finally here! Time to hit the beach, grab those flip flops, tan, and enjoy the scenery. Dawn begins early and invites us all to start an active day filled with interesting journeys. I just completed the “final edits” of another manuscript about a week ago (on my list of many) and I’m certainly in the mood for a celebration! Looking forward this summer filled with barbecues, music, family, friends, and fun. Be sure to catch all the great summer movies coming out too! I’m going to be busy in July to complete more projects in the works. Life is good! Keep writing and doing what you love to do. Now on to the next adventure!
